MINIATURE WIREHAIRED

WELKS was blessed with good weather and the conditions were perfect for the dogs. Some of the younger dogs particularly the puppies, had a job getting used to the longer grass, but the adults coped well. My general feelings are that stacked most of the dogs gave a lovely picture, but in many cases it all fell to bits when I asked for movement. Close movement coming towards me and in some cases unsoundness whilst going away and this is something which breeders must watch. All temperaments are good and one bitch positively loved me! Teeth in the main are clean and I found no badly placed teeth, a great improvement from 3 years age. Well done breeders. Coat texture and presentation is so much better these days.

MPD.
(2). 1. Punter’s, Welcumen Oscar. 7 months old baby. Seemed to take it all in his stride. Nice head and a good well developed body for a youngster. Tail carriage a little high, but he is a baby. Very promising. 2. Rees’s, Nordach Know It All. Very sweet 6 months old. Not quite the head of winner but another one to watch in the future.

PD. (3). 1. Oram’s, Rosswell Luciano. Dark brindle. Nice head leading into a well placed shoulder and correct forechest. Strong topline, excellent hind angulation and he moved quite well on the grass. Coat would benefit from some trimming on the underline. 2. Way’s, Sudasam Showtime. Again a dark brindle who is at this moment is a little on the leg but time will help that. A nice puppy.

JD.
(3). 1. Baldwins’, Komombo Copywright to Beckel. A very nice young dog who is maturing well. He has a good ring presence and shows off his attributes well. Good head, well placed shoulders. String topline leading to lovely quarters. Moved and showed well. RCC.

PGD.
(7). 1. Ree’s, Nordach Mr Wispa. Sired by a favourite of mine and he has a look of his dad. He is a red, well coated and presented to the minute. He coped well on the movement with his correct angles. Nice dog. 2. Smiths’, Dunns Pitts Zakajak. Lovely head on this little man. Great quarters. Level topline, good underline. He didn’t cope with the grass as well as winner. 3. Coles’s, Weststonelee Trooper.

LD.
(6). 1. Howells’, Fallowmill Nutz About Toffee. A new one to me. A very neat well boned and level dog with excellent angulation and correct coat. Prominent prosternum. Moved well. 2. Poxon’s, Kapodach Acer Trier. A lovely headed dog, good front. Not quite the angulation and moved close behind but nevertheless a nice dog. 3. Dunstall’s, Metcroft Dressed to Thrill.

OD.
(2). 1. Wilberg’s, Ch. Kanix Keith. CC and BOB. One of the best movers in the breed today. Showing extended pads when going away. His head is masculine and intelligent and leads onto a correct shoulder and front assembly. Good topline and underline, great quarters which he used with gay sound abandon. Well presented. He won the challenge on the day on movement.

MPB.
(2). 1. Punter’s, Welcumen Christmas Bonnet. She is litter sister to my Minor Puppy dog winner and sired by the BOB. Brindle, good front and shoulders. Very promising. 2. Brigg’s, Arranberg Bethsheba. A b/t with a pretty head and expression. She is at the moment a little straight in stifle which affects her movement. Good coat and eager to please.

PB. (10). 1. Blackburn-Bennetts’, Stargang Kasino Kween. A rich red brindle. Beautiful forechest, pretty head, correct mouth. Excellent body and drives off with enthusiasm and accuracy. Well handled. BP. 2. Marston-Teal’s, Lordscairine Love Academy. A very nice brindle bitch with balance and quality. Sweet expression with dark points. I would like a fraction better turn of stifle. The first 5 in this class were lovely pups. 3. Hutchins and Waite’s, Molloney Sue Flay at Pedach.

JB.
(6). 1. Wilberg’s, Stargang Coco at Kanix. This bitch has a great deal of quality and balance. Her coat is correct and well presented. Lovely head and expression. Fabulous shoulder placement. Good body and strong correct movement. To be hypercritical she stands a bit wide in the rear on the day. 2. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat Lettuce Inn. Stood extremely well and she is a well constructed bitch but her movement was a disappointment to me on the day. 3. Miles’s, Gunnrange Ophelia.

PGB.
(10). 1. Howell’s, Fallowmill Clarissa. A balanced nice little bitch who moved beautifully. Excellent coat. Very pretty head. Good prosternum and front. Hind end is also pleasing. 2. Smiths’, Dunns Pits Winnie the Poo. She creates a balanced picture with a good front and correct level and strong body. A close decision in this strong class. 3. Rowells’, Kanix Linda at Emmajesk.

LB.
(12). 1. Wilberg’s, Kanix Kalinka. RCC. In fine fettle on the day. Great front. Lovely head with loads of character. Correct front and topline, also underline. Good feet and a worthy bitch. 2. Blackburn’s, Stargang Renior. Lovely bitch with quality and balance. Well presented and she is sound as a bell. Correct body. Level and strong topline. Great coat. 3. Marston-Teal’s, Lordscairnie Love Actually.

OB.
(5). 1. Blackburns’, Ch. Kanix Hilda at Stargang. CC. Nice to see this quality bitch back in the ring after a litter. I love her type and soundness. A pretty head, lovely neck and shoulders following onto a strong sound body with correct fore and aft quarters. She moves with enthusiasm and soundness. 2. Hutching’s, Ch. Molloney Zena Ghost JW. Another great bitch who when standing creates a lovely outline of quality and balance. Lovely head and correct body. Great hind angulation, on the day she did not move too well behind. 3. Thorn-Andrews’, Drakesleat on Croot. Thanks to great stewards and the exhibitors.
