I last judged this breed nearly two years ago & the same comments apply. Some hounds were in soft condition which reflected in movement. A few had dirty teeth, these in the younger classes. I appreciated the numerically high entry. Such a shame the weather caused absentees.
MPD (10,2a) What a wonderful way to start the day, a class of super quality pups. 1 Poxon’s Kapodach Chip And Pin, balanced head, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, ribbing good with short loin, well muscled with strong rear movement, once settled kept good topline while moving, harsh coat, what a promising puppy. BP & RCC; 2 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Henry, very little to choose between these two & the same comments apply. Superb coat & in hard condition, really enjoying himself; 3 Crane & Brettell’s Silkstone Beloved. PD (10,3) Little to choose between 1 & 2. 1 S Beloved, settled in this class, he & handler at their first show, strong masculine head, good shoulders & ribbing, muscled body with good tailset, moved so much better with good extension, so promising; 2 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Once For Love, pleasing head with good proportions, level topline standing & moving, tight feet; 3 Blackburn’s Stargang Malachite. JD (7,3) Very differing class. 1 Punter’s Welcumen Oscar, smaller type but all hound, balanced head into tight shoulders, moved out very well, nice tight coat & feet; 2 Russell’s Russteck Fillibeg, young dog with lots to develop, should mature well, beautifully presented & handled; 3 Thompson’s Spengretta Sunrise Shadow. PGD (2) A. LD (4,1) 1 Hayward’s Foxearth News Flash, smart well presented & handled boy, strong head & body, good harsh coat, correct ribbing & loin into strong rear. Not enjoying the venue; 2 Poxon’s Kapodach Acer Trier, beautifully balanced boy, strong outstanding head, correct shoulder placement, good topline, excellent movement; 3 Howell’s Fallowmill Nutz About Toffy. OD (4,1) Strong class of good hounds. 1 Horswell & Iwama’s Ch/Jap Ch Drakesleat Jp Trier Winshoten, smaller, compact & very houndy with strong bone, balanced head into well placed shoulders & superb topline, strong body with correct ribbing & loin, rear angulation strong with feet tight, a delight to judge him. CC & BOB; 2 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Jackson, very smart dog, so well presented as are all from this kennel, in hard condition, well balanced throughout; 3 Barney & Sexton’s Molloney And Verrami.
MPB (11,1) Lovely class of bubbly babies. The first two were very up close. 1 Barney’s Verrami Juan Fine Day, looked good stacked, balanced head into well placed shoulders, good topline, correct ribbing & angulation, excellent bone & tight feet, so extrovert, having one I know one, & sympathetically handled; 2 Rathbone’s Waldmeister Willow at Brialind, lovely girl. Carrying a little puppy weight but has such potential, same comments apply & I look forward to seeing her development; 3 Poxon’s Kapodach Sukiyaki. PB (10,1) 1 Marston-Teal’s Lordscairnie Love Diamonds, balanced head & front into well placed shoulders, kept topline when moving on strong rearquarters; 2 Sebire’s Bouvee Brilliant, extrovert girl in excellent coat, so well presented, balanced forechest, good bone, rear angulation shown on movement; 3 Whitehouse’s Earlsdacs Hallo Dollie. JB (8) Really good class. 1 Hardy’s Kushwin Enigma, lovely compact bitch, good front, showed in movement, balanced head into well placed shoulders & level topline, harshest of coats, good tight feet, well presented; 2 Howells’ Fallowmill Treacle Tart, pleasing girl with well balanced head, good conformation & coat, enjoyed herself & was well handled; 3 Whitehouse’s Rioban Finishing Touches. PGB (15,5) Class of very differing types. 1 Kugow & Holt’s Waldmeister Guillemot, smart girl, excellent wire coat & in hard condition, this breeder works her dogs & it reflects in their movement, good front & shoulders into strongest topline, beautiful strong feet; 2 Kemp’s Metcroft Diamonds And Dust at Vossmead, balanced head & neck carriage, once cooperating with her handler showed a strong level topline & rear, moved well; 3 Jones’ Bimini Dizzi Dancer. LB (11,5) Really good class. 1 Thorn Andrews’ Drakesleat On Croot, well balanced head with best almond eye, good front with strong topline, ribbing & loin, excellent bone & feet, topline kept on movement; 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Kasino Kween, extrovert girl who insisted on flying her tail. So well balanced & compact, good topline & strong rear movement; 3 Kemp’s Metcroft Some Like It Hot at Vossmead. OB (8,2) Wonderful class of good bitches. It was a pleasure to go over all these girls. 1 Hutchings’s Ch Molloney Zena Ghost, showed herself off, moving so well, lovely head & shoulder, level topline & strong quarters with good rear angulation, so well muscled & shown to perfection. CC; 2 Horswell’s Drakesleat Voo Lay Voo, another to challenge 1, moved so well, well balanced head, correct shoulders, good topline & ribbing into strong rear. RCC; 3 Wilberg’s Kanix Kalinka.
