MINIATURE WIREHAIRED

I haven't judged this breed since 1998 and feel that they have lost type making it difficult to get a consistent line up. There are quite a number of forward shoulders and cut up underlines. Temperaments however were good as were coats and I didn't find any bad mouths. I apologise, especially to my BOB winner, that due to our late start it was not possible to get her into the group.

MPD. (8) 1. Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Cosmopolitan.Very nice youngster with strong head carried on good length of neck, tight elbows, well ribbed, hindquarters well angulated, moving well with lovely outline. BP. 2.Macdonald's Bothlyn Black Magic at Holtraand. Pleasing head, good coat, tight elbows, ribbing carried well back, moving positively with drive. 3. Poxon's Kapodach Mikkimoto.

PD. (4) 1.Punter's Welcumen Oscar. Short coupled brindle with good harsh coat, masculine head carried on well placed shoulders, moving parallel with good outline. 2. Poxon's Kapodach Mikkimoto. 3rd in MPD. Good head and wire coat, oval front, longer than 1. so not as well ribbed. Moved well. 3.Macdonough's Varrich Ben Lui.

JD (3,1a) 1. Hayward's Foxearth News Flash. Really liked the outline of this dog, pleasing head with dark eye, correct front, ribbing well back, good hind angulation. Moved well keeping his outline.2. Hunt's Tysar Secret Agent at Earthsea. Not as low as 1. but has a good harsh coat and strong head, little short in upper arm. Moved out strongly keeping his topline.

PGD (4,2a) 1.Howells' Fallowmill Nutz About Toffy. Well presented with pleasing head and good wire coat, enough lay back, level topline and underline. Moved out  with drive. 2. Miller's Bothlyn Timemaster at Sharplaw. Strong head, would like a harsher coat, good level topline and underline. Moved out well.

LD. (6,2a) 1. Poxon's Kapodach Acer Trier. Lovely headed dog, good front with tight elbows, well ribbed. Would like a little more angulation behind but was moving level with drive. 2. Moore's Danvichar Bergamot. Another nice dog with strong head and good wire coat holding his outline and moving confidently.3. Miller's Bothlyn Timemaster at Sharplaw.

OD. (5) 1. Wilberg's Ch Kanix Keith. Loved this quality brindle as a puppy and he has matured so well. He has a strong masculine head carried on good reach of neck, lovely oval front with tight elbows, excellent angulation and good sweep of keel, the best of movers really driving round the ring. CC. 2.Horswell & Iwama's Jap Ch Drakesleat JP Trier Winshoten. Another quality dog, strong male head, good length of neck on correct shoulders, well sprung ribs, well angulated, moving strongly round the ring holding his outline. RCC. 3. Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Cheez Doff.

MPB (10,4a) 1. Blackburn's Stargang Doll Finn. Really loved this little girl, sister to the MPD winner and much like him. Prominent forechest with good length of neck, keel well back, hindquarters well angulated, moving out well with drive. BPB. Lost out to her brother for BP as her topline is not so steady. 2. Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Guillemot. Another promising puppy. Not quite as strong behind but has a correct front, pleading head and harsh coat, moving with a steady topline and good drive.3.Howells' Fallowmill Deal Ilah.

PB (5) 1.Moore's Danvichar Digitalis. Pretty small bitch with feminine head, harsh coat and level topline. She has a good layback of shoulder, tight elbows and ribbing well back. Moving with drive.2. Price's Samlane Rosaleen. Another promising youngster with feminine head and expression, good length of neck and well angulated quarters so a sound mover. Playing her handler up somewhat. 3. Howells' Fallowmill Dolly Dealer.

JB (6,1a) 1. Williams' Tythe Gwenno. Liked the outline of this brindle,  pleasing head, harsh coat, good oval front with tight elbows, moving out confidently. 2. Black's Kushwin Embrace Bassodon. Small brindle, feminine head and good wire coat, shoulders well placed, moved level, needs a little more confidence. 3. Waite & Hutchings' Molloney Sue Flay at Pedach.

PGB. (10,2a) 1.Holgate's Drakesleat Bahn The Bomb. Promising brindle, good forechest, pleasing head, level topline and underline, harsh coat, moving confidently with good drive. 2. Young's Tarkus Gentle Breeze. Nice feminine head with gentle expression, good shoulders, keel well back, moving level. Not quite as strong behind as 1. 3.Fulton's Bothlyn Penny Black.

LB (8) 1. Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Lettuce Inn. Loved this well constructed bitch as she entered the ring, wonderful type, good head, length of neck and correctly placed shoulders, level topline and underline. With her well angulated hindquarters she moves confidently and looks a picture driving round the ring. CC & BOB. I believe this gives her her crown. 2. Price's Samlane Pink Gin. Another well constructed exhibit, good type, feminine head, harsh coat, good length of neck, firm topline, well angulated quarters, moving well with drive. 3.Kemp's Metcroft Some Like It Hot  At Vossmead.

OB. (10,2a) This was a very strong class led by three nice bitches. 1. Horswell's Drakesleat Voo Lay Voo. Impressive exhibit of good type, feminine head with dark eye, liked her outline, well ribbed, good shoulders and well angulated hindquarters, moving strongly. RCC. 2. Wilberg's Kanix Kalinka. Well presented brindle with excellent coat, pleasing houndy head, good layback of shoulder, strong quarters, moving out well holding her topline. 3. Hutchings' Ch Molloney Zena Ghost JW Sh. Ch.
