MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

Lovely entry. Males though lower in numbers were probably better in quality overall than bitches – the weights registering on the scales would seem to imply that weight is not the reason it once was for not keeping a male, so why are there not more in the ring? Again the majority of exhibits had dirty teeth, but coats & temperaments were good. Placings may alter in different weather, but the minis seemed less affected by the heat & only the one exhibit seemed troubled by the grass. As can be seen by my placings, I was v impressed by the new generation!

MPD (6) 1. Wilberg’s Tysar Robin Hood at Kanix, v sound balanced harsh coated brindle, more finished than rest of class, moved well. 2. Presnail’s Taree Gipsy Point, red, a little longer coupled but a v sound free mover. 3. Boyn’s Brindeckel Bally Fury, sound p but lacking angulation in comparison.

PD (6) 1. RCC, Robertson & Cocozza’s Soletrader Dax Factor, v dark brindle, loved him in this class but looked a big baby in the challenge, v sound & free with level topine, holding shape on move well. 2. Horswell’s Drakesleat Vincent Van Goff, different type, not as outgoing & not as level going around today, but v pleasing p with excellent hind movement & good substance. 3. Blackburn’s Kanix Hugo to Stargang, another lovely p, just felt he was light behind in comparison.

JD (6) 1. Wilberg’s Tysar Peter Pan at Kanix, another v sound balanced harsh coated brindle p, more mature than his MP winning brother, close up in challenge, tail carriage did not appeal today, excelled in front movement here. 2. Price’s Samlane Manilow, bigger lighter brindle, lovely to go over but just tucking his tail under on the move & spoiling his outline today. 3. Punter’s Welcumen Top Hat, v nice type dark brindle boy, moved far too fast & strung up.

PGD (4) 1. CC, BPD, Barney’s Verrami Brown Doff, mature chocolate p at his best on the move where he presents a lovely outline & is sound & free both ends – lovely head & expression, stood out in challenge for shape & movement. 2. Billinghurst’s Nordach Mr Show Off at Jiljac, up from 5th in junior but a nice type with good movement – tail carriage on the move affects outline, coat a little untidy 3. Way’s Sudasam Topatn’tails.

LD (3) 1. Womble’s Emem Wind In The Willows, v well presented smart dark brindle d with excellent coat, v sound, would prefer stronger head & more neck, just appeared a little "stuffy" in challenge. 2. Schulze’s Loretto Prince of Spades to Doubledax, could show them how to move behind, a lot to like once you look past his coat, just lacking a little angulation both ends. 3. Baldwin’s Beckel Blueprint - did not move as I have seen him do.

OD (3) 1. Wilberg’s Ch Kanix Duncan – sad that he was alone, lovely sized d, with good coat so masculine & sound, just a little upright both ends for me & in the challenge seemed to lack length.

MPB (7) 1. Hipkin’s Metrella Wotnot, sound, free moving dark brindle b, lovely to go over, a trifle flighty. 2. Blackburn’s Shybu Saffire Perle at Stargang, not as mature, but more classic shaped mini-wire, would prefer a stronger head, not too keen on co-operating on the move today. 3. Smith’s Dunnspitts Winnie The Poo.

PB (5) 1. CC, BOB, BP, Blackburn’s Kanix Hilda at Stargang, absolutely outstanding in this otherwise disappointing p class. Beautifully made with an excellent dark brindle coat she flowed around the ring holding a lovely shape, well angled at both ends with a beautiful head & expression & typical attitude, looked like a standard in miniature, could find nothing to beat her 2. Dunn’s Cairos Nuala Love, lighter brindle who moved soundly but still a little untidy in topline. 3. Hobley’s Jakanem Truly Scrumptious.

JB (9) 1. Hutchings’ Molloney Zena Ghost, light brindle with cute expression who is v sound & all of a piece, free mover with good hind angulation, won easily here, unsettled in challenge, would just like a little more front to complete the picture. 2. Punter’s Welcumen Best Bonnet, a v nice darker brindle with better coat but could not match hind angulation of winner, & again was moved too fast on a tight lead. 3. Sebire’s Bouvee Blitz.

PGB (10) Really liked the first three here. 1. Presnail’s Taree Ermedale, brindle b with excellent head, ribbing, angulation, v mature, at her best on the move where she flows soundly around the ring holding a good shape. 2. Blackburn-Bennett’s Shybu Zephrin at Shardagang, v attractive silver dapple who is a little shorter & I would prefer a stronger head, sound & active on the move, 3. East’s Komombo Sunny Spell, v nice shaped sound b who moved well, just spoilt by tailset.

LB (8) v even class, anyone of the 4 could have won, in the end type & shape on the move sorted them out – the b placed 4th was the only exhibit on the day who was right up to weight & would have looked better with more. 1. Sexton & Hayward’s Foxearth Fixed Asset, v sound dark brindle with good ribbing, would have liked more front, held good topline on move. 2. Sebire’s Stargang Standing Ovation for Bouvee, v sound heavier coated brindle, good shape with better hind drive than. 3. Horswell’s Drakesleat Why Knot.

OB (11) 1. RCC, Freer & Rodgers’ Loretto Finnishing Touch to Montravia, elegant light brindle dapple who excels on the move, well presented coat, v sound, good ribbing & hind angulation, sound free mover, v typical miniature wire, in the challenge preferred front & balance of p. 2. East’s Komombo Misty Day, v sound well made brindle with lovely length, moved well but tail carriage affected outline in profile. 3. Kugow & Holt’s Ch Waldmeister Meadow, v sound smaller b with excellent coat & construction, just not moving as well behind as I have seen her.
