MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

I should like to thank the Committee of LKA for their kind invitation and the wonderful hospitality. I was very pleased with my overall winners. I found some terrier fronted dogs and some with rather small "toy" like heads. Close hocked hindquarters and short ribbing as always is still a problem.

MPD (3) 1 Dunstall's Metcroft Zigane. This dog has a lovely head. Good shoulders and front and nice tight feet. Excellent coat. Tail set a bit low, kept his topline. Rather high on the leg which spoilt his overall balance. 2 Cole's Weststonelee Wilfrid. Nicely balanced outline. He also had a nice head. Very good coat. Little short in upper arm and not as tight in elbow as my winner.

PD (4) 1 Russsell's Russteck Orsino. Very good head on this youngster, He has a very good coat. Could have more keel and turns his feet a bit. Very good ribbing going well back, good topline and strong hindquarters. Moved very well. Best puppy dog. 2 Billinghurst's Nordach Mr. Show Off at Jiljac. Not the head and strong muzzle of my winner. Good ribbing and topline. Moved a bit close behind and I would like more bone and substance throughout.

JD (4) 1 Baldwin's Beckel Blueprint A light brindle dog with a lovely head and eye.Good keel, shoulders and very good ribbing. Retained his outline and topline on the move. Moved with drive. He needs to tighten up a little in front but the overall balance was very good. good keel and feet Reserve CC. 2 Punter's Welcumen Denzil. Lovely headed dog with a very good coat. A little short in upper arm. Good ribbing and hindquarters. Moved strongly round the ring. Gives the impression of being quite large, but he is just high on leg. 3 Way's Sudasam Topatn' Tails. Small black and tan dog He has enough keel and very good feet. Turns his feet out a bit, Strong hindquarters and moved quite well.

PGD (4) Womble's Emem Wind in the Willows. Won this class on his very good outline. Dark brindle with a good head and eye. Good front and keel. Tight feet. Ribbing goes well back. Moved very well in front, runs up a little behind. Good tailset. 2 Smith's Dunns Pitts Supasmiff. Nice dog in outline, a little short in upper arm. Good head and eye. He has enough keel.Ribs go well back. Strong hindquarters, could be tighter in front movement. 3 Moate's Dianamo Lugar. Leaner dog throughout would prefer more bone. He has a very good coat. Excellent keel and front. Good forechest. Would prefer a stronger head. Moved rather erratically and close behind.

LD (3) 1 Close decision in this class two very nice hounds. At the end of the day I preferred the hindquarters of my winner. 1 Wilberg's Kanix Duncan. Heavily coated dog with good head and eye. Plenty of forechest, with good feet and ribbing. Good topline and strong hindquarters used on the move. Front movement was rather erratic in the challenge. 2 Fulton's Jonkaths Time Traveller to Bothlyn. Good head and very good neck and shoulders. Plenty of forechest. Good ribbing. Moved with drive, but is a little loose in hock behind.

OD (4) 1Three dogs of very different type. 1 Dance's Ch & Ir. Ch Emem Nipper in The Air. Beautiful head and neck on this dog. Excellent shoulders, front and feet. Very good ribbing and outline. Moved very well, CC. 2 Blackburn's Ch Stargang Mickey Finn. Good red brindle dog. Pleasing head and good shoulders and feet on this dog. Well presented. Could have more keel and ribs could go further back. Strong hindquarters. Moved very well retaining his topline. 3 Gorton Baker's Axters Bindaree Von Kotch. Nice outline. Coat could be harsher. He has a nice head and keel. Hindquarters are strong, but comes towards you rather close in front.

MPB (13) A class with some lovely babies. This is promising for the breed. 1 Punter's Welcumen Best Bonnet. Lovely youngster with an excellent harsh coat. Nice head and eye. Good keel and shoulders.Long ribbing. Strong in hindquarters. Nice and tight throughout for a baby. Lovely happy outgoing temperament. 2 Marston Teal's Lordscairnie Love Actually. A Very pretty bitch. Shorter caste than my winner. Good head and shoulders. Good ribbing and retained her top line on the move.Good strong parallel hocks. Moved well. 3. Scott's Wolferlow Slack Alice. Little red bitch Well made throughout. Coat could be harsher Lovely and tight throughout for a youngster. Excellent strong hindquarters. Retained her top line on the move.

PB (9) 1 Smith's Dunns Pitts Toodle Do. Sweet head and expression on this dark brindle . Very well made throughout. She has good shoulders and plenty of keel. Excellent feet and ribbing. Nice hocks, retained her outline on the move. Moved very well when she settled. Should have bright future. Best Puppy. 2 Fulton's Bothlyn Singing the Blues. Another lovely young bitch, with good neck and shoulders. Good keel and ribbing. Tight feet. Very good coat. Would prefer a slightly larger head and she moved well but a bit close behind. 2 Freer & Rodgers Montravia Nighty Night. Very well constructed throughout. Beautiful head and front. Good tight feet. Very well presented. Moved well when she settled. Could have a harsher coat. This may come.

JB (12) 1 Thorn Andrews Drakesleat Lettuce Owt. What a beautiful bitch! Typical lovely head from this kennel. Excellent front, plenty of keel and nice ribbing. Good tight feet and well laid shoulders. Good coat and topline. Lovely strong hindquarters which she used on the move. Really strode out in the challenge retaining her lovely outline.I understand she is now a Champion and was happy to award her her 5th CC and BOB. 2 Sexton and Johnston 's Foxearth Floozy. Very well constructed bitch. Not the head of my winner. Good shoulders and ribbing. Good hindquarters..Moved well. She has a good coat. 3 Kemp's Metcroft Some Like it Hot at Vossmead. Red bitch with a sweet head and good eye. Good front, feet and topline. Moved very well behind. Coat could be harsher.

PGB (10) 1 Hayward's Foxearth Fine Blend. Lovely head on this well made bitch. Excellent topline. Good feet and front, and ribbing goes very well back. Strong in hindquarters. Could tighten up a little in elbow. 2 Presnail's Taree Campbell's Creek. Another well constructed bitch. Nice and tight in front. She has good feet, ribbing goes well back, Turns a foot a little. Would like her a tad longer in body. 3 Jones' Stargang River Dance for Bimini. Silver brindle bitch. Nicely made throughout. Good feet and shoulders. Ribbing sufficiently well back.

LB (10) Difficult class here with a lot to like about many of the unplaced bitches. 1 Punter's Welcumen Black Hat. When they entered the ring this young lady was unsettled but she improved and when I got my hands on her she was very well made throughout. She has a good head and eye with a nice strong jaw. Excellent coat and good front and feet. Her ribs go well back and she has strong hindquarters used well on the move. 2 Sexton and Hayward's Foxearth Fixed Asset. Very nicely made bitch with good shoulders and ribbing. Another one with strong hindquarters which she used on the move. Coat could be a little harsher and would have preferred a stronger underjaw. 3 Angaer's Beckel Bountiful for Ridgegrove. Nicely made bitch. Very good feet. Good head and eye. Nice neck and shoulders. Could fill out a little more in forechest. She was very well presented with an excellent coat. Not the strength behind of 1 and 2.

OB (11) Difficult class this. Some very good exhibits. I did find some short ribbing causing weaker toplines and rising hindquarters on the move. 1. Blackburn's Ch Stargang Xquisite. Extremely well made red brindle bitch throughout with very good head, neck and ribbing. She has good forechest and shoulders. Very nice and tight in elbow. Strong in hindquarters on the move. Retained her topline throughout.Reserve CC 2. Horswell's Drakesleat Why Knot. Beautiful head and neck on this bitch. Very good shoulders and plenty of keel. Ribbing well back. Good tight feet and elbows. Good topline. Not as positive in hind movement as 1. 3 Thorn Andrews' Dunns Pitts Kwite Kute Drakesleat. Another one with a gorgeous head and good eye. Lovely front and feet and good ribbing and topline.. Very well muscled in hind quarters but did not extend behind as well as 1 and 2.
