MINIATURE LONG DOGS

Most were in lovely condition. One or two were inbetweem coats, as is to be expected at this time of year. Temperaments on the whole were good, one or two were a little shy or unsettled in the noisy hall. Some had dirty teeth, there is no excuse for this, and some were in need of a good bath. Why pay entry fees and not bother to present your dog in a clean condition is beyond me. Shoulders and length of ribbing are a problem, in keeping with the other varieties of Dachshund, which I also judge at CC level. Thick padded feet are in the minority, I feel these must be bred for: nails on the whole were not too long. Only three or four put the scales down, as this is now to be taken into account with other faults, though providing the animal is well covered this does not bother me in my placings. I was very pleased with my winners, down to VHC in some classes. MP (8) 1 Promising babies. 1 and Best Puppy Dog, Graham's Jadag Fortons Caramel. Choc/t and very glamorous boy, coat in pristine condition, as were all from this kennel. Excellent feet, well boned and good front and ribbing. Moved soundly and with style. Promising. 2 Cooper's Jealroie Sir Percival at Jumanda. Red, well boned with excellent angulation and he kept a good outline both standing and moving. Just needs to tighten up but has planty of time, as he is only 6 months old. 3 Jones' Ralines Royal Appointment. P (9) 1 Halsall's Kiddles Medusa. Brindle baby of 9 months and I just loved him,one I could have taken home. The most lovely typical head and eye, excellent shoulders and he kept his shape at all times. Not quite as mature as yet, just needs to body up, but very promising. 2 Graham's Jadag Special Edition. B/T and litter brother to Caramel. Lots to like, well developed front and a nicely angulated rear. Very sound moving. A little unsettled but when he gains confidence should do well. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Atlantica. J (7) A lovely class. 1 Wood's Wildstar Wrenowned. An object lesson in presentation, just lovely. Excellent front and length of keel and thick, well padded feet, sadly missing in many. Moved like a train: with the agreement of my co-judge BOB. He had a little more maturity over a lovely young bitch. CC, his second, and Res BIS - should easily make up. 2 Robert's Denver Dream Lover. Glamorous cream and a real problem boy, as he was very unsettled for some reason, a pity, as I loved everything about him. Head and eye correct, good length of foreface and he was correct all through. On the move he had bags of style, must do well on another day. 3 Poole's Findowrie City Slicker. N (4) 1 Cooper's Jealroie Sir Percival at Jumanda. 2 Bell's Tolberg Holly's Little Gem. Very immature cream, nothing to dislike. Head and eye correct and is shapely all through. His coat has not developed as yet, another three months will see a big difference, promising. 3 McCarthy's Nagshall All Guns Blazing. PG (7) Not a good class. 1 Kernode's Kingsdax Kings Ransom. He did put the scales down, but as the guide is to include this with any other fault, I felt he was of sufficient quality to be awarded 1st. Red with probably the best shoulders in the entry. This with a well developed front and length of ribbing led to a well constructed dog. Sound mover, pity he in not in a smaller package. Super head and expression. 2 Mitchell's Lyndarlea Magical Black for Sonsrymes. B/T in nice condition. A shade sqauer both standing and moving, and a shade light in bone. Moved ok. 3 Croxford's Arbroath Lord of Glendhu. L (10) Much better class, down to VHC. 1 Young's Willowheath Hendrix. Lovely b/t with correct shoulders and a well developed front. Thick chunky feet and he moved very soundly, keeping his shape. A nice one. 2 Cawley and King's Creekpit Black Opal at Summerview. B/T and not quite the front of the winner, but well laid correct shoulders and he looked well moving in profile and standing, kept his lovely shape. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Fizical Attracts. O (9) A bit of a headache, as I have admired most of these boys at recent shows. 1 and Res CC, Ch Turner's Rafthouse Herr Flick. Silver dapple of the correct size, nothing exaggerated and looks the part. Well ribbed, good strong hindquarters and moves with style and freedom. A little short of coat, a worthy Ch. 2 Brooks' Ch Lyndarlea Choc Ice. Choc/t and a super glamorous boy. Excellent front and quarters, moves as a Champion should. In lovely condition, just wish he was a shade deeper chocolate. 3 Graham and Wood's Ch Jadag. Fortons Special. B/T (1) 1 L Atlantica. Very typy baby with good feet. Lovely head with correct eye and moves ok. Very immature and just needs to body up. Dapple (3) 1 Jamieson's Silver Ado by Djeata. Well marked and shapely all through. 2 Evans' Lyndarlea Silver Moon. Well marked silver with rich tan. A shade square in outline standing and moving against the winner. Sound. 3 Drady's Kobo First Choice. AOC (5) 1 Oxley's Ch Wildhatch Cropston Boy of Dinkidax. Brindle and I have always loved him. Really lovely head, eye and expression. Good neckline, correct shoulders and well angulated rear. Moves with drive and soundness. A shade out of coat. 2 K Medusa. 3 Brooks' Layways Piper of Lyndarlea.

MINIATURE LONG HAIRED - BITCHES It was a great honour to be asked to judge at this 80th Anniversary Show. I would like to thank the officers and the committee for a lovely day. Thank you to all the exhibitors for a fabulous entry and accepting my decisions in a sportsman-like manner. A few comments that I would like to add I found while handling some of the exhibits some were light in condition which I did penalise. Teeth need to be watched still a large amount with tartar stained teeth. I did not find too many dirty dogs which is a plus. movement on the whole has improved a great deal but I did find front construction is not as good. Temperaments on the whole were not too bad I can forgive it in puppies but not in adults. There were still too many exhibits with longer nails which detracts from the shape of the foot. Pigmentation has improved but I still found plum coloured nails and noses and in some reds and creams white nails which I do not find acceptable there is nothing nicer than black pigmentation and nice dark nails. MP (11,1). 1 Blackshaws Ravensways wishin'N' Hopin. What a super puppy she caught my eye as she entered the ring red presented in excellent condition. Pretty head well arched neck moved out well keeping a pleasing outline at all times. One for the future. 2 Thomas's Shenaligh Sweet Surprise Very smart black and tan nice front construction well placed shoulders. Was not happy on the move but well deserved her place in this strong class. 3 Young's willowheath Frosting angel P (11,1). 1 Turner's Rafthouse Eternity, pretty black and tan who filled my eyes correct head well filled front correct shoulders well ribbed moved round the ring with ease keeping a good outline at all times well deserved her BP 2 Norris's Xemxija star struck at Criscan Have seen this bitch before from the ringside and she did not disappoint on handling her lovely head neck and front but was a little apprehensive on the move which cost her the class a lovely puppy. 3 Clarke's Hilmar my Heart Will go On J (14,1). 1 Poole's Findowrie Lady Georgia Pretty red well covered correct head and front moved out well keeping a lovely outline but for me i would like a little more of her but she well deserved her win in this class. 2 King's Bronia Royal Rose with Kingsdax Black and tan another quality exhibit sweet head and expression nice feet moved out well. 3 Banting's Indicot Megastar N (7,1). 1 Herdsman's Daxdaze Keeping the magic. Moved round with great style. 3 Welton's Chelane pure Magic L (16,3). 1 Blackshaw's Ravenways Drama Queen Smaller red who was not the most co operative with her handler correct front and shoulders moved out well keeping a pleasing outline. 2 Pooles Findowrie wine and roses Black and tan everything in the right place perfect front and shoulders moved with great presence. 3 Edward's Barok Zola Bella O (13,1). 1 Norton's Halunke Shallimar this bitch headed a class of quality bitches both 1 and 2 I am sure will change places many times. On the day I thought 1 had more presence and strode out more both score well in head and neck and front but on the day 1 had more length had more length of stride on the move a difficult decision. 2 Holmes Ch Tammera touch of Elegance 3 thomas's Shenaligh Sweet Shadow JW SpO black and Tan (7,1). 1 Geeson's Abydachs Absolution This bitch came saw and conquered she fills your eyes as she enters the ring. I thought her mother was nice but this girl has the edge. Correct well filled oval front nice tight well placed shoulders well arched neck super well sprung ribs well angulated hindquarters which gave thrust on the move.Handled to perfection to get the very best out of her.
