My thanks to the Dachshund Club for their kind invitation to judge and for the most enjoyable day and subsequent Barbecue. I found some very nice dogs in my principal winners. I also found short ribcages, and some very flat feet. Temperaments were ok though a few were rather apprehensive. MPD (8) Nice class of babies. 1. Leggett's Sontymes Sports Boy. Very handsome silver dapple youngster at this his first show. Excellent front and keel and ribs went well back. Very pleasing head and good shaped eye. Excellent feet and bone. He is just six months and needs time but it is all there. Moved with good drive considering the fairly long grass which caused many other exhibits to scuttle. Well angulated strong hindquarters Coat OK. BP. 2 Brook's Lyndarlea Choc Ice. Chocolate also with a lovely head and eye. Good front and feet. Ribbing goes quite well back. Retained his topline on the move. Strong behind, not quite the tightness in elbow of my winner. 3. King's Kingsdax Regal Knight. Red dog same applies, good head and eye and correct front and good feet. Also had correct length of rib and retained his topline. PD (4) 1 Worswick 's Dollyharp Don Basilio. Lovely cream dog, in excellent condition and coat. Very nice head with excellent pigment. Good topline. Nicely constructed throughout, correct shoulders and tight feet. Ribbing and topline good. Long in body so long in stride but not as much drive as my minor puppy. 2 Brook's Black Thorne at Lyndarlea. This dog moved out well, He had a good topline and sufficient keel. His head not as strong in underjaw as the winner and coat not in the condition of my winner. 3. Poole's Findowrie Man About Town. Red dog. This dog has a pleasing head and eye, ribbing and front good and retains his topline on the move. Feet could be tighter. JD (5) 1 Illidge's Paradachs Murphy Moonshine. Headed a class of some apprehensive youngsters. Black and Tan Good head and very good neck and shoulders. Tight feet. Just enough keel . Ribs go well back. Good topline moved quite well. 2. Leyshon's Jadag Silver Heir with Picklescott. The handler was shaking as the dog had just tried to do a runner. The dog himself was quite calm and moved quite well when they settled. Well coated youngster with good keel and topline. Ribs could go further back. Well laid shoulders and pleasing head. 3 Thomas's Shenaligh Sweet Tiger. Red with a lovely head and front. Coat in good condition. Quite elegant in outline and good topline, needs to tighten in elbow. Moved quite well. PG (11,2) Not an easy class this. Some were very short in ribbing and many lacked sufficient keel and breastbone. 1. Harrison's Lacerking Jimmy Mac. Black and tan attractive head and good shape to eye. Enough keel and good tidy feet. Well laid shoulders and ribcage goes well enough back. Retained his topline. Moved out well. 2 Hayes' Dolyharp Duet with Dialhouse. Cream dog with good head and pigment. Ribbing goes well back. He retained his topline on the move, Coat in good condition. Turns his feet a bit. 3 Brook's Dark Night Black Magic at Lyndarlea. Black and tan. Small dog lacks rather in length of neck and body . Good front and keel. Moved quite well retaining his outline. LD (13) Three very promising dogs headed this class. 1 Jamieson's Djeata Riven within the Ring. Very well made black and tan 3 year old. Lovely head and good eye. Tight front with very good feet. Excellent shoulders and sufficient keel. Very good topline and pleasing outline on the move. Covers the ground well. Good length of rib and strong hindquarters. Could be carrying a bit more coat. Kept going with good drive and delighted to award him his CC. 2. Johnson's Charpurdy Sir Lancelot. Another very nice dog making a close decision. Lovely head and eye. Good feet and front, plenty of keel and length of rib. Not the hindquarters of the winner . Rather loose in hock. Moved out well in side gait. 3. Dutson's Rossglen Rosso Di Cadore. Black and tan with very dark tan. Good head and shape of eye. Good feet. Good shoulders and keel. Not the length of ribbing of 1 and 2. Moved well retaining his outline. Quite strong behind. OD (9) . 1 Locketts Ralines Red Dragon 2 year old red in glorious coat, the best condition on the day. Very nice head and overall construction. Very good feet, He retained his good outline on the move. Would prefer slightly longer ribcage and a little more substance throughout. Moved well in the class, not the same drive in the challenge. Reserve CC. 2 Jamieson's Ch Airways to Carlang Via Djeata Black and Tan 5 year old dog with probably the best overall construction of the day. Super to go over him but not the coat of the winner. Moved well, I really liked this male but his teeth were in desperate need of attention. 3. Naden's Marielle Brigadier Jerard. Very dark black and tan of 6 years. Very noble head, good front, shoulders and ribbing. Standing low to ground, well made dog, moving out well. Coat in good condition.

I would first of all like to thank the Committee for giving me the opportunity to give my first CC’s. The weather was beautiful, the rings were superb as were the surroundings. The very warm welcome we received was very much appreciated. Also thank you to all the exhibitors for the very sporting way my placings were received. MP (8) 1. Geeson’s Abydachs Attitude. 7 months black & cream. Good conical head with lovely eye shape, correct dentition, good length of neck leading into well laid and angulated shoulder. Lovely length of rib & keel with adequately let down quarters, strong hocks. Moved well and looked lovely. 2. Harrison’s Lacerking Royal Maid. 8 month very pretty bitch. Excellent front and prosternum, good length of rib with nice short loin. Excellent quarters. True moving in both directions. Two promising puppies. 3. Phillips’ Nothing Compares to U. P (9) 1.  Scott’s Maydays Regal Lady.   9 months fabulous young lady. Beautiful head and expression, lovely elegant neck leading into correct shoulder. Ribs well laid back, short, strong loin, excellent turn of stifle and short strong hocks. Really covered the ground on the move and was just what I was looking for in a baby, should have a very promising future. B.P. 2. Leyshon’s Picklescott Desdemona. 11 months red bitch, good  head and eye, correct dentition. Lovely angle and lay of shoulder, level topline, nice quarters, moved with drive. 3. Beautiful bitch. R.C.C. 2 Hall’s Cliffmere Vanquish. Black and tan bitch of a smaller type to 1. Lovely conical head with correct eye and dentition. Good length of neck and correct 90 degree shoulder with tight elbows. Well ribbed and good quarters, moved with drive in all directions. 3 Norton’s Halunke Miss Martini. PG (17) 1 Lockett-Walters’ Ralines Foreign Affair. Shaded cream with a wonderful head that just melts you. L (12) 1 Williamson’s Barkroyal Wyspering Willo. Black and cream. Very unassuming bitch, but so very correct to go over. Nice head and eye, good mouth, would like a little more length in neck. Black and tan of lovely proportions. Good all through, covered the ground with verve. 3 Townsend’s Sarade Shady Lady. O (11) 1.  Roberts’ Ch Denver Babycham. What a bitch !!
