Dachshund (Miniature Long Haired)

Judge : Joyce Pluck

First I would like to thank the exhibitors for such a good entry. I am afraid I must say that the overall quality of some of the exhibits left a lot to be desired. Many lacked length of ribbing, resulting in too long in loin. Also short keels and spring of rib. There are still some tummy tappers about, hence lack of drive from the rear. These faults made it very difficult to sort out, but I was pleased with my winners.

SpOD (5). 1. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Sea Shell. B/t nice compact little bitch. Kept a good topline on the move and strode out well with drive. 2. Duchesns’s, Dolyharp Baron Zeta of Scandell. This little dog had a lot to like about him. Correct coat, good topline, but did not have the drive behind. This is why he stood second. 3. Sanders’, Sandwells Christina.

MPD. (10). 1. Graham’s, Jadag Brookbond. A very nice b/t dog liked his head. Super topline on the move. Strode out round the ring, good head carriage. 2. Lockett’s, Ralines Royal Statesman. Nicely constructed puppy. But did not stride out with the confidence of the winner. Many exhibits I feel sure did not like the shiny slippery floor. 3. Garman’s, Zadophie Lunar Son.

PD. (8). 1. Brook’s, Rhinestar Phoenix at Lyhdarlea. Red dog of good construction, correct coat. Kept a good topline on the move. Good reach of neck. Very nice outline. BPIB. I was sorry he did not stop for BPIS. 2. Graver’s, Melvalley’s Midnight Star. B/t dog. Plenty of substance, good topline on the move. Not quite the elegance of the winner. 3. Crawley’s, Doujac Fine and Dandy.

JD. (4). 1. Hazelby’s, Evadanne Golden Rod. S/cream dog. Super spring of rib on this dog. Plenty of substance good topline on the move. Good feet and bone, moved well. He just lacks that little bit of glamour, which does help when being shown Best Junior. 2. Robalis’s, Denver Jack Frost. C/M dog nice head good feet. Kept topline on the move I don’t think he was too happy with the floor. I preferred ribbing of the winner. 3. Young’s, Williwtheath Del Boy.

PGD. (9). 1. Brook’s, Quitrutec Half Day at Lyndarlea. Cream dog with super lines. He has a good reach of neck and good topline on the move. He strode out with a great stride. Covered the ground well. Very impressive dog. CC. 2. Wallace’s, Mullion Kuda Thila at Cheslan. Another cream dog. This dog has good construction and moved well but did not make the most of himself. Liked a lot of the dogs here on the day, I don’t think he liked the floor. 3. Hayes’s, Dailhouse Midnight Velvet.

LD. (14). 1. Croxford’s, Arbroath Mr Mackinnon. C/red very nice dog correct coat. Kept a good topline on the move. Nice outline, good reach of neck. Strode round the ring with purpose. RCC. 2. Watkin’s, Bidornis Pinball Wizard. Cream dog. Plenty to like about him. He moved well and kept a good topline, but his feet let him down. Good feet are very important for a hound, maybe some more road work. 3. Dunn’s, Ashridge Private Ryan.

OD. (7). 1. Robalis’s, Ch. Denvers Lord Snooty. B/t dog. Nice head carriage good topline on the move. Good reach of neck, but I thought on the day his movement was rather lethergic. I would have liked him to have covered the ground better. 2. Holmes’s, Ir Ch. Tammera Top Gun. Red dog moved quite well. Not the elegance of the winner and would have liked a bit more length to the ribbing. 3. Bedford’s, Ch. Rhinestar Hunky Dory.

MPB. (16). 1. Scott’s, Jadag Kadbry Rose. Ch/dapple super little bitch. Very elegant, sha moved well and kept a good topline on the move. She had a good reach of neck and nice outline. 2. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Sweet Dreams. C/red nice compact little bitch not quite the reach of neck as the winner. But strode out quite well with a good topline. 3. Shutt’s, Rose Ruffles of Donnadoon.

PB. (8). 1. Amos’s, Dacatec Our ‘n’ Simple. B/t bitch of quality. Good reach of neck and good topline which she kept on the move. I am sure she will do well. 2. Garman’s, Albaneys Octavia. Smart compact little bitch moved and shown well, but not the elegance of the winner. 3. Jensen’s, Albaneys Skoda.

JB. (14). 1. Ono’s, Gilldax Laurelaner of Foriller. Cream bitch, very elegant. She moved very well round the ring, with a good topline. Nice bone and feet, but she did not show so well when it came to the challenge for best Junior. 2. No name given. My notes say she moved with plenty of drive from the rear with a good topline and good reach of neck. I liked her quite a lot, she just needs to be in better coat. 3. Young’s, Willowheath Nursery Rhyme.

PGB. (17). 1. Norton’s, Halunke First Lady. C/red nice mover. Flowed round the ring good topline, nice head carriage. 2. Shutt’s, Donnadoon Passion Flower at Rhinestar. B/cream plenty of substance all through. Moved well good topline, not quite as elegant as winner. 3. Lockett’s, Ralines Eye Dolised.

LB. (17). 1. Hall’s, Cliffmere Klassic. Red bitch of quality she has so much to like about her. She pushed hard for the ticket, but the CC winner just had the edge on the day. RCC. 2. Thomas’s, Shealigh Sweet Symphony. Another good bitch from this breeder. Compact and a good mover. The winner had that bit more elegance. 3. Bedford’s, Chriskim Dinki Deedle of Dinkidudlor.

OB. (8). 1. Lockett’s, Ch. Ralines Royal Acclaim. What a super bitch. She has just about everything you could ask for. Nice head, good reach of neck going into well laid shoulders, good length of ribbing and nice sweep of keel. She just flowed round the ring with such elegance. CC and RBIS. 2. Wood’s, Wildstar Wrather Royal. A very pretty cream bitch of quality. Smaller and more compact than the winner. She kept a good topline on the move and strode out well. But the winner had the edge on elegance and ring presance. 3. Hall’s, Cliffmere Harmony.

V (5). 1. Davis’s, Corrinbar Corn Barley. C/dapple dog 12 years old and a credit to his owner. Teeth as clean as a young puppy. He moved like a dog half his age he still has a good topline on the move. Very pleasing to see him gewt BVIS. 2. McLwan’s, Ch. Maxin Ice in the Sun. 8 years old bitch. She moved well round the ring, but the winner had the edge on the day. 3. Bedford’s, Ch. Kiora Karoo.

BRACE. (2). 1. Worwick’s, Dolyharp Flower Song JW/ Willowheath Misty of Dolyharp. This well matched pair moved better as a pair than they did on their own. 2. Welton’s, Chelane King of the Castle / Chelane Reach for the Stars.
