Crufts 2002

(Miniature Long Haired)

Judge: Mr Roy Metcalfe

I would like to thank the exhibitors for the wonderful entry of 185 dogs aming 197 entries with very few absentees. Sportsmanship was excellent and I really enjoyed my day. As usual there was a stronger depth of quality in the bitches. It is difficult to get the bone substance and length within the weight limit, particularly in dogs. I do not think fashionable colour breeding helps the breed and I was concerned by light pigmentation in all colours. Personallu I think more emphasis could be placed on line breeding which produced many of the former blueprints of the breed. I did however find more than enough quality exhibits to place in fact many admirable exhibits went cardless.
